A Bushnell Stealthview 5x42 Monocular Review

This is one of the best products Bushnell has come up with to date. The Bushnell Stealthview brings together all of the night vision surveillance features you could ever want in a night vision digital.

The Stealth View produces a bright image under low light conditions. An image that is as clear as any standard Gen 2+. The image is clear from edge to edge, rectangular and presented in Black and white.

Like many of the digital monoculars available today, the Stealthview is well suited to neighborhood and property surveillance

It comes standard with 5x  magnification providing for outstanding medium and long range observation, with or without the Illuminator. At these ranges, Staying beyond the notice of dear, birds or raccoons is much easier.

This night vision device works well under a partial moon and has a powerful 940 nm IR Illuminator for the darker conditions and longer ranges. The IR Illuminator has an adjustable output and can be turned off to extend battery life

Night time video recording is doable in the dark, using the provided video output. The video out can also be connected to an auxiliary monitor, to provide a bright distortion free image for remote viewing.

Like all of the digital night vision devices out there, the Stealthview works as well in the daylight as it does in near dark conditions. It handles night and day without image interruptions or equipment damage.

Bushnell StealthView 5x42 DigitalThe Bushnell Stealthview will tend to use up the batteries. So, for extended usage the Stealthview comes with an external power jack.

High magnification will make close range observation difficult with any optics, day or night, especially when the subject is on the move. The Stealview 5x42 is a high magnification device with a limited field of view and depth of field. So, using it on foot and on the move wouldn't be the best use for this night vision device.

On the up side:

The Bushnell stealth view 5x42 is built well. Something we all expect of Bushnell products. This is an excellent night vision surveillance monocular. It is simple to operate and the price is right for a night vision device with this many features. This is a great night vision device for intermediate and long range observation. There is no better way to record your night time observations.
