ATN Night Vision

ATN night vision is the big producer of night vision devices with the largest selection for both professional and affordable recreational use. They provide night vision for every use from inexpensive homestead surveillance to the high end night vision equipment used for criminal investigation and military operations.

ATN night vision includes all of the usual stuff, just more variations. They build everything from Gen 1 to Gen 3 and beyond (Gen 4?). There are way too many products to list here.

ATN manufactures their own optics using quality optical glass that is multi-coated on each surface to maximize light transmission, especially IR light

ATN builds their own power supplies. They are reliable thus the 2 year warrantee

ATN doesn't manufacture their image intensifier tubes, they buy them in the US and Europe.

ATN Night Vision Products - A closer Look

ATN Logomonoculars, bioculars, binoculars, rifle scopes, head and Helmut mounted (goggle(s)) and IR Illuminators

Gen 1 Night Vision

Gen 1 night vision devices are the least expensive and most available of  all the night vision equipment in the consumer market.

ATN generally specifies a Resolution of 40 lp/mm for their Gen 1. This resolution is measured in the center of the image. (All Gen 1 night vision presents varying degrees of distortion as you move from the center of the image)

Some ATN Gen 1 Night Vision.

ATN Viper          - Light weight monocular with head mount (goggle)
ATN Night Cougar   - Light weight binocular with head mount (goggles)
ATN Night Storm    - Two colors to choose from and water proof
ATN MO4-1          - Smart Tech turns its self on and off

Gen 2 Night Vision

Gen 2 night vision devices bring a large improvement over the Gen 1 in light gathering, image quality size and weight

ATN has three general grades of Gen 2 night vision devices. They are presented here in order of increasing performance and price.

Generation 2+ intensifier tubes have a typical Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 12 to 20 and a resolution from 40 to 45 lp/mm. The plus just means current production.

CGT intensifier tubes have a typical Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 16-22 and resolution of 45-54 lp/mm. They are sensitive in a wide spectral band, more of the longer near IR, providing better contrast in the displayed image

HPT image intensifier tubes are a step up from the CGT tubes with increased sensitivity, resolution and Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). These improvements produce image results that rival the standard Gen 3 tubes.

Typical SNR of 22 and resolution of 54-72 lp/mm

Gen 3 Night Vision

Gen 3 night vision devices bring a large improvement over the Gen 2 with the addition of a gallium arsenide coating on the photo cathode.

ATN has three grades of Gen 3 night vision devices. Each boosting the performance and price.

Gen 3 standard intensifier tubes have a typical Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 22 and a resolution 64 lp/mm.

Gen 3A intensifier tubes have a typical Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 26 and a resolution of 64 to 72 lp/mm.

Gen 3P intensifier tubes have a typical Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 25 to 30 and a resolution of 64 to 72 lp/mm.

IR Illuminators

All ATN IIT night vision comes with built in near infrared illumination.
